In flat glass recycling both product-related contaminants (e.g. heating wires and foils in car windows) and any other contaminant materials (ceramics, stones, porcelain, building rubble, metals, putty, plastics, heat-resistant glass, glass-ceramics, etc.) must be sorted out. Recycled flat glass primarily is processed into construction glass and car glass and must meet high quality requirements.



K9

The K9 BASIC / K9 FLASH colour separator is used for the colour separation of cullets and CSP separation from a grain size of 2 mm. It is mainly used for quality improvement in the recycling of fine glass, hollow glass, and flat glass in a predominantly single-coloured cullet flow, e.g. in white or

brown glass enrichment. In addition, the colour separator also offers the option of obtaining high-quality single-colour fractions from mixtures of differently coloured shards. K9 FLASH also detects heat-resistant and/or leaded special glass types.

MAG
The MAG 4300 series of metal separators, used in glass recycling, removes metal contaminants eg aluminium, steel or lead from glass cullet. The cullet is widened on an external feeder and reaches the glass slide where the pieces are further individualised before continuing into the inspection area of the multi-channel metal detector. If a metal contaminant is detected microprocessors determine its exact location. Electronics evaluate this position and ejection nozzles are activated with pinpoint accuracy and at precisely the right time to blow out the contaminant. The ejection nozzles are so precise that the metal contaminants are removed with very little loss of cullet. The rest of the cullet, free of metal contaminants, then continues along the conveyor.

The material to be inspected is spread out on an external feeder and reaches the glass slide where the pieces are further individualised before continuing into the inspection area of the CCD linear camera which identifies their colour. Electronics evaluate their exact location and ejection nozzles are activated with pinpoint accuracy and at precisely the right time to blow out the identified pieces of glass into a vertical chute.
