The core of Suzuki's philosophy always has been to provide bikes that are optimal in form and function. Their products are based on the effort to implement customer wishes and demands in development.

 

Quality inspection is of outstanding importance for SUZUKI All the components of a bike undergo thorough inspection and quality testing. To ensure that material and aesthetic demands of the product are met, individual parts undergo performance testing before they are released for assembly. For efficient testing SUZUKI has installed state-of-the-art inspection and testing machinery. For in-house recycling SUZUKI MOTORCYCLES INDIA PVT. LTD. uses metal detectors to protect shredding machines. These metal detectors are conveyor belt systems of the Plasticon range of Sesotec. 

 

Task
At the Gurgaon plant SUZUKI MOTORCYCLES INDIA PVT. LTD. produces plastic components for bikes with seven injection-moulding machines. Reject material from this process is shredded, and because it had already happened that the cutting unit was seriously damaged by metal parts hidden in the material, which had caused high costs for repair and downtime, SUZUKI was searching for a solution for this problem.

For the protection of comminution machines (cutting mills, shredders, etc.) SUZUKI MOTORCYCLES INDIA PVT. LTD. uses Plasticon conveyor belt systems with integrated C-SCAN DLS metal detectors. Metal detectors of the C-SCAN DLS type detect magnetic and non-magnetic metal contaminations even if they are embedded in the product. Plasticon conveyor belt systems with C-SCAN DLS metal detectors reduce costs relating to the repair of machine damage and to production losses in downstream processing machines. They improve the quality of the shredded material and protect against customer complaints. Plasticon conveyor belt systems provide a rapid return on investment.

 

Plasticon conveyor belt systems are especially designed and constructed for the protection of comminution machines.  Lateral guides with seals ensure that small parts cannot get under the conveyor belt. When a metal is detected the conveyor belt is stopped or reversed. For optimal adaptation to the local conditions the height of the conveyor belt can be adjusted at the infeed and outfeed side.
